Above is my new Etsy banner, I wanted it quite clean and simple and to tie in with my blog, but to be honest I really really struggled to do this, I don't have photoshop or any other application to help. I ended up using gimp and a couple of online tutorials.
Below is a little boy made with super sculpy (a sort of flesh coloured polymer clay that you harden in the oven) it has different qualities to the paper clay I've been using, I like both mediums so I think I'll continue with both. He has a little of the 1950's about him.
So after much hard work I am finally getting my Etsy shop up and running, so far I have a selection of cards but will be adding brooches, sculpted characters and textile creatures. Above and below are images of the work produced in the last couple of months that I'm getting ready for my shop.
Above is Bird Boy, he has a head and body sculpted from paper clay with felt details. He stands on a tall knitted tube filled with rice and polyester stuffing. Below a detail of 1950's boy.
Elephant meets bird boy. The Elephant is of a similar construction from paper clay and felt with a long knitted body.
Below I am starting to sort out packaging for the paper clay brooches.
A detail of one brooch, pinocchio, pinned on a waistcoat.
Another brooch, girl in wool hat.
above is an example of one of my textile creatures, the face is printed onto cotton from my original drawing and then had colour added. Below is the white rabbit made with the same technique.
and finally packaging some of the felt brooches.
